Neonatal & Paediatric Oncology

Tumors in adolescents are almost invariably caused by a non-inherited DNA mutation that occurs at random (acquired). Children who have acquired DNA mutations will not be able to pass them on to their children in the future. They are not always treated the same way as adult tumours. Paediatric oncology is a medical specialty that focuses on the treatment of cancer in children. Cancer treatment comes in a variety of forms. The sort of treatment that a child with cancer receives will be determined by the type of disease and its stage. Surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, and stem cell transplant are all common treatments.
